Video intercom systems have replaced traditional keys, pin codes, buzzers, and wired intercoms with modern, digital systems that include video and wireless capabilities. Because of the high volume of traffic that passes through main building entrances, the majority of apartment buildings include a barrier to access that allows visitors, such as friends or delivery drivers, to speak with residents, who may then decide whether or not to allow them entry.
