The 4L60E Transmission is one of the most commonly encountered problems in the newer generation of General Motors vehicles. It was introduced in 1993 and used in front-wheel-drive applications like the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Sierra 1500/2500. On 2WD applications, the transmission was fitted with a thin metal or plastic dust cover. It was also used in the Chevy S-10 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500/2500.
